NSW: Elderly targeted in home burglaries
Elderly residents of the Blacktown area, in Sydney's west, are being targeted by a
thief who gains access to their home before stealing cash and valuables.
Constable SEAN GABIN from Blacktown police says the man uses false pretences to gain
access to the homes of elderly people before stealing their wallets.
He says it's believed the man has struck at least four times since April 8, telling
elderly residents he'd seen someone in their house or yard to gain their confidence.
Once inside the homes, he steals wallets, handbags and jewellery.
The man is described as about 169cm tall, of medium build with short dark hair and
a dark complexion.
He is thought to be in his 20s or early 30s, and was seen driving an old, possibly
1970s model dark-coloured Corolla.
Anyone with information about the man is asked to contact Constable Gabin on 9671-9130,
or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
