FED: Dunstan a man of profound influence: Howard

CANBERRA, Feb 6 AAP - Former premier Don Dunstan was responsible for major social and
cultural changes in South Australia, Prime Minister John Howard said today.

Mr Howard extended the government's sympathy to the friends and family of Mr Dunstan, who
died this morning after losing the battle against lung cancer.

"The death earlier today after a long illness of Mr Don Dunstan ... marks the loss of a
person whose influence on the politics of his state was profound," Mr Howard said …
